“Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity.” – Pema Chödrön.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in the treatment of adults in Richmond, Virginia. I have been in Private Practice full-time for over 25 years. Among my areas of expertise are anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), loss of relationships, eating disorders, other compulsive activities, and trauma, whether from childhood or more recent traumatic experiences. I also help individuals resolve work struggles and life transitions.
My approach to therapy includes several modalities:
-Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
-Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy
-EMDR
-Exposure/Response Prevention (Ex/Rp)
-Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
-Hypnosis
-Meditation and Mindfulness
The approach that I use in any given moment is based on where a person is in their life and what might be most effective. Since everyone is unique, I work with each individual according to their needs.
My clients describe me as calm and an excellent listener. They say that they like that I'm fully engaged in the therapy process, ask the right questions, and don't judge them. They also say that they feel safe with me and in my space.
